Derby Day Saturday May 3, 2025

Derby Day is upon us and while I DID get to actually go to the Kentucky Derby once, this year, I’ll be at home, celebrating with the big race on TV. 

This year is the 151st Derby and will air on Saturday May 3. The main event usually takes place between 6:00 and 7:00 pm, with pre and post-race ceremonies bookending the race itself.

The Derby is such a great excuse to host a party! I love everything that goes into it. The outfits, the hats, the mint juleps!  I was once asked to be on a show called The Couch to talk Derby and make mint juleps.  It was a trip!

This year, we have a lot of fun happening for the Derby at The Social Society.

First, we’re hosting a Derby Hat making Workshop.  What a fun way to prep for the party you’re hosting or attending!  You will receive a straw hat and we will have tons of rhinestones, ribbons, faux flowers and more to craft a stunning hat with. You’ll surely be the talk of your party for best dressed if you show up with one of these!

Next, we have all of the supplies that you need to host a fabulous Kentucky Derby Watch party.  Horse napkins!  We’re obsessed!  Lace plates, STUNNING!  Talk Derby to me cups, PERFECTION, Horse balloons that we are happy to fill with Helium for you OR you can air fill and stick to your wall or window!  If you weren’t already planning to host a party, I’m guessing you’ll want to now, am I right?!

Now the big question is….who are we betting on?!
