A Fiesta First
This past summer, my adorable Niece turned ONE. When my sister made the "we need to start planning baby Dylan's birthday party" call I was all ears and ready to PARTY!
Mandy wanted to go with a fiesta themed party but with a tweak to the traditional primary color story. Instead of red, blue, green and yellow we went with a palette of bright fuchsia, lemon yellow, lime green and tangerine orange. STUN.NING.
She found the PERFECT invite on the Minted website and ordered matching thank you cards for sending hand written notes to all the guests after the party.
Timing worked out perfectly as a space called Bash Studio had recently opened in Toronto. The space is bright, clean and perfect for a kids party. We set a table for family to enjoy lunch at while kids were off in a corner listening to music, playing with toys and enjoying their time together as little peeps. The space also comes with a slew of high chairs so everyone with a small child could feed them easily.
Mandy found the most adorable party hat "crown" for Dylan on Little Blue Olive's site and I mean c'mon....could this family be any cuter?!
We set up a serve yourself bar with sangria, wine, beer, water and juice boxes for the kiddos. We also set up a ridiculously gorgeous dessert table. We styled the table with a balloon garland from One Stylish Party, our newest obsession. We also got the most fabulous cake topper from our cousin Daniela of All that Glitters which Mandy stuck into a shaved coconut crusted vanilla cake. YUM!
One of Mandy's best friends is a caterer, Elyse Leanna, in Toronto and her food is not only delicious by so beautifully presented. She set out the fiesta themed food with make your own burrito bowls, chips with guacamole and salsa, shrimp + chorizo skewers...it was so YUM.
To document the party and capture shots of Dylan with our family and her friends, we asked Sandra Brzezinski to photograph. That was a smart idea wouldn't you say?! If you ever question hiring a photographer, don't. There's nothing better than having the milestones documented through photos that you can cherish forever.
