A Confetti Filled Birthday

A few weeks ago while brainstorming new DIY projects, I thought about what I could do using all the confetti we have at the Little Miss Party HQ. I know, typical party planners, right? But we love confetti! So I figured, why not make some decor using it?! That’s what inspired last week’s confetti place cards and confetti drink tray.

So the next question was, how do I use them? I used the same type of confetti for both projects, so they matched perfectly. To me, this rainbow color palette SCREAMED birthday! And lucky for me… it was my 28th birthday on July 3rd.

So as you might expect from a party girl, I threw myself a celebration at home. I set the table for 4, and set out place cards for my mom, dad, and sister, Moira. I used just dessert plates, since this wasn’t going to count as my birthday dinner- I’m one of those “birthday week” type of people, HA!

I picked flowers from my parents’ stunning garden which is thriving and blooming more each day. I used a gorgeous vase and set of wine glasses to match from my mom’s china cabinet that she NEVER uses. They were iridescent and beyond perfect for this.

And finally, I made the most Instagrammable cake ever, using an awesome Flour Shop Cake kit from William’s Sonoma that my cousin gifted to me last year! It was so fun trying to mimic the process of this famous bakery, and I love how it turned out! I will warn you, the sprinkles are a CHALLENGE so just be ready to clean up as you go and don’t get too frustrated when the cake doesn’t look exactly like the ones from the Flour Shop… they’re experts for a reason!!!

While I waited for my fam to join my “party”, I poured myself a glass of wine and enjoyed some evening sunshine on the patio. I have to say, it was the perfect way to celebrate. Sweet treats, wine, and surrounded by confetti - what more could I ask for?
