A Decade of being parents

It’s hard to believe it’s not been one full decade since we made the decision to become parents. I remember back to the day Adam and I decided to bite the bullet and have a baby. It was right after Adam’s sister had a baby. When I held her first born, Morgan, in my arms I knew then and their…I wanted one of those. A few months later came Gavin. I had no idea what it was going to feel like to be a mother. Wow. What a trip. Everyone told me back when I had Gavin - Enjoy the “Babymoon” years because soon enough, life is going to turn upside down for you. I was like gee thanks. Sounds exciting. Well guess what…? They were so right. Oh my goodness….ever hear that saying big kids big problems?? THAT’S MY LIFE NOW!

It’s a wild ride but I love every moment of it. I’m so grateful for these amazing children of mine. They are both so different but so special in their own unique ways.

Gavin has a heart of gold. He just wants people to be happy. He’s so kind, smart and affectionate.

Luke has an incredible amount of energy, a beautiful spirit and is so cuddly.

The world is changing at a rapid pace and me and these kids are just trying to keep up. As my kids are growing up so quickly it’s important to me to capture them on film every year so I can always look back on each year and remember what they chose to wear for school photo day, how they smiled, posed and that look in their eye. Luckily our school brings in Stomping Ground Photo, the most amazing team of photographers who totally pump the kids up for these photos. It’s so great to see how they have all kinds of shots for us parents to choose from: serious, happy and silly! It’s almost like I can predict exactly what they are going to be like and do when they grow up when looking at these photos…or at least create my own little story book in my head. Ha!
