Why Fall is the best season

This business allows us to meet so many wonderful people. From our amazing vendors to our gracious clients, we are truly lucky. One of our favorite clients (check out her son's State Fair themed 1st birthday), was looking to throw a kid-friendly fall party and we could've have been more excited to be working with her again. And especially bc it was a party just to PARTY! Since it was the perfect crisp fall weather, with the perfect fall colored leaves, we decided to take the fall theme, and run with it. Here is what we pulled together for her. For food we turned to our faves at Cobblestone Catering. Chef Jeremy created an amazing seasonal menu for us, complete with a mac and cheese bar! Creamy 4 cheese mac n' cheese was baked in individual ramekins and served with toppings like spicy pimento cheese, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, pesto and breadcrumbs. Are you drooling yet? And yes we taste tested...it was as good as it looks! Homemade chips and guacamole, served out of a hollowed out pumpkin! Grilled autumn veggie skewers Fresh Fruit skewers with a yogurt dipping sauce My personal favorite, portabello mushroom sliders...amazing! We styled the table with all white platters, wooden crates and jumbo maroon and gold balloons anchored into a basket of freshly picked apples. Greenery in gold mercury glass vases and real leaves brought the table to life! Every food table should have marquis lights spelling out EAT, right? No fall party is complete with out a ton of drinks. The apple cider sangria was a huge hit, as suspected. We had mini milks for the kids and tons of craft beers and local wines for the adults. How cute are these milk containers...they have a chalk front and we wrote the kids names on them so no one would lose their milk! Fall really is the best season. And when else can you carve out pumpkins as vases? Or spray paint pine cones gold and use them as food place card holders? These white pumpkin vases were beyond gorgeous and super simple to put together with a trip to the farmer's market. Now -- let's talk dessert. Have you ever seen a cake this amazing? Our client works with a special cake lady who creates anything and everything. This cake is a mockup of the new apartment building they moved into just days after the party! Angela from making that cake created mini apple, pecan and chocolate pretzels pies for us along with leave shaped sugar cookies. All were displayed on white cake stands and birch tree risers. There were almost too pretty to eat...almost. Fall is also the best season because eating Apple Cider or Pumpkin Pie donuts is totally allowed and actually encouraged!! The donuts from Doughnuttery are simply the BEST. When you have 20+ kids at a party, you gotta keep em entertained. Especially if the parents want to have a good time! So we brought in Wacko Will, the best balloon animal maker EVER. You should've seen what he did...the kids AND parents were all blown away! A face painter is always a crowd pleaser. Especially when you hire Melinda Prom from Melinda's Children's Parties. Lastly, we setup kids tables/chairs and called upon Imagination Lane NYC and her wonderful staff to help with several seasons crafts for the kids. The kiddos were beyond thrilled and loved every minute of craft time! Cheers and happy Fall everyone!!! All stunning photography by the talented Diane Hu
