Did you know that this Sunday June 21st is not only father's day but Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year?! The most perfect reasons to gather with friends and family right?! Here's what our summer solstice is going to look like... Let's start off with some Watermelon! We cut our watermelon into triangles, stuck a popsicle stick in and froze them to make watermelon pops. You can prep this the night before and you will have a great snack, appetizer or dessert for your summer party ready to go! To serve the watermelon pops we lay them on a bed of crushed ice. Perfection! We teamed up with Kingsford® to get our grill on. Since our day will consist of drinking a few beers....we made beer can chicken. It's so easy to make and just hangs out on the grill while you lay out by the pool. Of course we'll be serving a ton of refreshments to stay cool and hydrated. Ice cold beers with these adorable drink sleeves from Ban.do will be flowing all day long... And of course no summer day is complete without a large dispenser of lemonade! Load it with tons of ice, lemons, mint and you're all set. Sunflowers are all over the farmer's market these days so we picked up a bunch and displayed in watering cans on our bar and food table. Although the sun will be taking it's time to set on this awesomely long day, we will still be lighting up a bonfire and roasting s'mores! Our favorite way to end a perfect summer day. Is it the weekend yet??
