Spiced Mulled Wine

As most of you know, we are in the business of sending parties in boxes to your doorstep.  That's why when we received a Holiday Party Magic Box from our friends at Chex, we were so eager to play around with everything that was inside!

When we opened the box we were greeted with a bunch of goodies, including a recipe for Spiced Mulled Wine.  In addition to the recipe card, they also included the cinnamon sticks, cloves and glass mugs that we would need for the drink. I tested out the recipe... it was DELICIOUS, and I am so excited to share it with you all!

What you will need: -1 cup brandy -1 tbsp brown sugar -1/2 tsp. whole cloves -1/2 tsp. black peppercorns -one bottle of red wine -1 cup kosher blackberry wine -2 cinnamon sticks -peels of two oranges (SERVES 4)

What to do: 1) Combine 1/2 cup of brandy, brown sugar, cloves and peppercorns in a medium saucepan and stir while heating to a slow boil. 2) Reduce heat to low and add the rest of the brandy, red wine, blackberry, cinnamon sticks and the peel of one of the oranges. 3) Warm on very low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, ladle into mugs and garnish with orange peel.

Boom. Easy. And also warm and ridiculously yummy.  The perfect Holiday beverage to keep you toasty, even though it has feels like spring in NYC right now. But, oh well! We also threw together some festive Chex Mix to go with it, and it was a winning combo.

For the Chex mix, we used the gluten free Chex that they sent us in the box, and added in some marshmallows, pretzels and green M&M's - simple, salty and sweet!

To style these drinks, Seri was able to make the orange peel into a cool curly-q for garnish! The gold tray that we put everything on was also included in the Holiday Party Magic Box, and the antler napkins were custom designed by us using For Your Party.

Enjoy! See ya next week.
