Fifty Shades of Valentine's Day

So, now that it's February, we ask you... what are you doing on Valentine's Day?

All of us at LMP agree that our favorite things to do on Valentine's Day is to sip on cocktails, eat some sweets, and go to the movies! Whether it's with our hubbies or some girlfriends, movies are always a great way to enjoy the Holiday of L-O-V-E.

Universal Pictures asked us to come up with some fun ideas to celebrate Fifty Shades Darker, which is coming to theaters this Valentine’s Day so we invited a few girlfriends over and threw a masquerade-themed Galentine's Day party.

We asked the gals to come decked in sexy outfits, we let the red wine flow and we served a menu of very sexy foods like prosciutto purses (melon on the inside, chives to tie), crostini with brie and pears with a balsamic drizzle and crostini spread with Neuchatel cream cheese and topped with pomegranate seeds.

We made for a festive setting with black balloons, silver confetti and tons of roses.  We hung a metallic silver backdrop from Decorative Novelty to use for photos.

We always love serving a signature drink and for this cocktail party Abby was serving up a romantic and bubbly libation.

Abby's Sexy Sip:

Here's what you need: -prosecco -St. Germaine -fresh strawberries -edible rose petals

Here's what to do: 1)Rinse off and slice some fresh strawberries, about 10, removing the green stem and leaves. Place slices in a bowl, and using a muddler, mash them up. 2) In a pitcher, combine 1 bottle of prosecco, 2 oz. of St. Germaine, and your muddled strawberries.  Stir gently. 3) Top with edible rose petals, and serve!

For dessert, we thought it was appropriate (and ok, totally cliche) to serve chocolate covered strawberries.

With our table set and our drinks poured, we got to donning our masks, tossing some confetti, lighting sparklers, and partying.
