Mother’s Day is May 10th, mark your calendars everyone! It’s one of my favorite days because my mom is really amazing and I always love celebrating her. This year, I’m attending a very special Mother’s Day brunch with some pretty incredible moms (and one mom-to-be!). I really want to bring something special to this brunch, so I decided to find a do it yourself project that will work perfectly for every mom. Are you ready for an easy, quick, and affordable DIY gift? Grapefruit Sugar Scrub (makes about 2 cups of scrub) ½ cup of coconut oil 2 cups of granulated sugar 8-10 drops of grapefruit essential oil grapefruit zest (optional) ½ tablespoon of beet juice to colour (optional) Directions: 1. Melt coconut oil in the microwave. 2. Add in granulated sugar. Mix until incorporated. 3. Add in grapefruit essential oil (or any other essential oil you’d like!), and beet juice and grapefruit zest (both optional - I only used a little beet juice to keep my scrub light in colour). Mix again. 4. Jar your scrub and you’re done! I made some simple labels to print out for the jar lids. And since these scrubs are for gifts, I used butcher’s twine to make them a little more special! If grapefruit isn’t your thing you can choose any essential oil(s) you’d like. Lavender is always a hit, but get creative! How about coconut mixed with lime, or lemon and mint? There are so many great possibilities. Hope you (and the special moms in your life) enjoy! xx Daniella
