Christmas under the Palm Trees

Life is funny….
I recently threw a monster party for Gavin’s bar mitzvah. He has a really close buddy who is our neighbor here in Florida who was able to make the trip to Toronto to celebrate with him thanks to his mom. His mom, who I adore (!), posted some photos and videos from the party and her friend in Ponte Vedra quickly noticed and said HEY! Who is that girl? I need her to style my Holiday Party!

Enter Robyn, our new favorite person. She’s the most wonderful, kind and cool client we have worked with. Robyn gave us free, creative reign to style the heck out of her house for her annual Christmas party and OMG did we ever have a ball with this one.

For starters, Robyn’s house is absolutely stunning. She has impeccable taste and there were so many spaces to work with.
When the guests arrived, they were greeted with champagne and asked to take a photo in front of the Christmas tree that Robyn has set up in her living room. After the party, Robyn sends out the photos to all of her guests. What a nice touch!

For the decor, we focused in on a few main areas:
1. The kitchen
2. The backyard
3. The driveway where we put up a tent
4. The pergola

In the kitchen we set up a champagne bar where we filled Robyn’s bar sink with disco balls! AH! They were so sparkly and fun!
On her kitchen island we created a classy winter wonderland with winter greens, fresh florals and an assortment of beautiful trees.

Now head into the backyard and be ready to be WOWED….
To tie in the kitchen island, we continued the winter greens, florals and trees on her outdoor dining table where her guests sat and enjoyed dinner, we styled the shelves by her TV in her outdoor den with fairy light filled ornaments, light up trees and white reindeer and then….my favorite: THE BALLOON WALL! With FA LA LA Marquee lights! AH! When I first moved to this town in Florida I found this incredibly talented balloon artists: Husband + Wife duo of Hennessy Events and I have just loved worked with them ever since.

Keep on walking and you’ll find the bar, tent and pergola. This was a whole vibe over here…
I worked with All About Events on the tent rental as well as the DJ Booth that we created a custom decal for and had installed by my friend Marisa of Marisa Lynn Studio as well as heaters to keep everyone warm! When the tent was installed, I noticed that the cinder blocks had plastic covers on them. To elevate this look, we found plaid tree skirts that fit over top so perfectly and matched the color theme like a charm. I also noticed, that the ceiling felt a bit bare so at the very last minute, Bridget from Hennessy Events referred me to Gathered Rentals and they saved the day by installling two large disco balls. BOOM! They were so perfect.
Under the tent were tables, chairs, a stunning Christmas tree that we elegantly styled with white garlands and ornaments and a mirrored topper to complete the look. Under the tent is where the DJ was stationed and spun tunes to dance to all night…till the noise laws kicked in!

Keep walking, past the tent and you are in Robyn’s stunning pergola. In there, we had Hennessy Events hang metallic orbs and stars, we set more trees and florals and baskets of blankets, flip flops and beanies for the guests to enjoy while they were dancing or hanging out and enjoying the music, company and all of the fun.

Robyn is a person who wants to give everyone in her life a chance and opportunity and we had the pleasure of working with some of her great finds. She had a couple there, Connor + Megan, college kids who were home for the holidays who helped us with the set up and fully broke down the party. These were the hardest working kids I have ever met. She also introduced us to an incredibly talented photographer, Tyler of Jaxsn’s Visuals who captured the photos when the guests arrived and then all through the night.

As the guests saw their way out for the night, Robyn gifted everyone a mini bundt cake. We set these beauties up on her front console under her gorgeous mirror that we designed a custom decal for as well…HOW CUTE?!

What an incredible party this was. I can tell you that first hand because Robyn so graciously included me and Adam as guests. There is no doubt, we look forward to working with Robyn and her family over and over again. What a pleasure this all was!
