Cereal day Mocktails + Cocktails
Cereal Day is that made up holiday that makes for a perfect “let’s do something different and crazy” this morning before we go to school.
I found a recipe from Momufuku (one of my favorite places) where you use cereal and steep it into milk. Their recipe uses Corn Flakes that you toast. I used Fruity Pebbles and skipped the toasting step. To make this “breakfast mocktail” that I am surprised the kids with today I used store bought frosting to coat the rim of a glass and then dipped the rim onto a plate of crushed Fruity Pebbles. It looked so cute and was obviously very delicious!
Once you strain the cereal milk you are left with a sweet drink that will surely get the day kicked off with a lot of sugary energy!
Now for the adults who also want to partake in cereal day say after work around happy hour…Here’s the trick to turning this mocktail into a cocktail…
Blend your strained cereal milk with ice cream or ice to make a shake and add a shot of bourbon or vanilla vodka.
YUM!
Happy Cereal Day!
