Bringing a little touch of Paris to NYC
We most recently had the pleasure of working with the team at Alison Brod PR to style a space where they could host sessions with the media to preview their newest products by L’Oreal. The theme was: PARIS. ABPR booked the Penthouse suite at The New York Edition in the Flatiron district which was the perfect size and space for us to bring to life. With striking views of the city from every window, we took iconic pieces of Paris to pull through the theme.
In addition to stying a space for a brand, we think through and coordinate rentals if and as needed. In this case, the team was going to be making presentations to the press. So we rented beautiful white + gold chairs from Taylor Creative to set up presentation style for their guests to sit comfortably through these discussions. We also handled the catering for light meals, refreshments and snacks for their guests to enjoy upon arrival and during the presentations.
For the color palette, we worked with the team to hone in on the “hero” products and colors. We highlighted those products with a palette of deep red, blush pink, black and white. These colors were pulled through the florals and the vessels that we sourced to display the product within. It’s amazing now that the Home Edit is on the scene because they are the first brand I turn to when working with a beauty brand. For this event, I was particularly drawn to their black onyx line. The lazy susans, and open front bins were a perfect size for the larger products that we were working with such as the shampoo bottles.
For the smaller products like the eyeliner and primers, I found the Marie Kondo glass containers were super chic and so functional with their pull out drawer that allowed us to style these products in a unique but also very realistic way as one would in their bathroom or dressing room. Another product that I always turn to when styling beauty products is the rubber coated bathroom tray from CB2. So chic and you can use for pretty much anything…
When it comes to the florals, there’s nothing we love more. The palette we were working with was too perfect for the flowers that were available to us in the market on the day of the event. Peonies, ranunculus, French Anemones…too perfect. What a combination and the colors were so vibrant they popped so beautifully all around the room.
To pull through the Parisian themed in an unexpected way where we had the food and products styled we brought in a stunning white and black bar cart and turned it into a flower cart with large buckets of wild florals and greenery, macarons from Dana’s Bakery (our favorite in New York) and more product placed throughout.
We styled Eiffel Tower figures all over the space and branded cocktail napkins and mirrors and windows with vinyls that included the brand logo and tagline. We also found some beautiful books about Paris to style on the book shelves and as risers for some of the products.
We also pulled through branding with gorgeous frames that we sourced at CB2. We worked with the team to pull their hero images and we framed them throughout the space which was a really subtle and nice way to show how the product looks when it’s out of the jar and on your face or in your hair.
The team that we worked with at The New York Edition was an absolute pleasure. They ensured we were well taken care of during our set up, helping us put our customized artwork on the TV’s, setting up music and making sure all catering went smoothly. Was a beautiful event with the most wonderful clients. This right here…is the most perfect example of what we love doing and why we adore our jobs.
