Brilliant April Fools Ideas

April 1st is upon us and you know what that means?  PRANK TIME! 

I genuinely don’t know what the meaning or origin of this holiday is. So I looked it up!  Here’s what I discovered on history.com:

April Fools’ Day—occurring on April 1 each year—has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures, though its exact origins remain a mystery. April Fools' Day traditions include playing hoaxes or practical jokes on others, often yelling “April Fools!” at the end to clue in the subject of the April Fools' Day prank. While its exact history is shrouded in mystery, the embrace of April Fools' Day jokes by the media and major brands has ensured the unofficial holiday’s long life.

Doesn’t really explain very much BUT none the less…it’s a day to have a little fun and I’m here for it.

Every year, I struggle with ideas of what to do or simply forget that the day even exists so this year I thought it would fun to link to ideas we came up with in the past (I totally sent my kids with “moldy” Sammies one year and it was hilarious!  And this year, In order to get this photo shoot done, we “fooled” The Social Society staff with veggies over donuts and then gave to donuts to customers who came into the store that day.  Here are the ideas that you can use this April 1st if you are looking for a laugh or to kid around with your fave people!…

April Fools Idea #1:

Moldy Lunch box - This was an idea I came up with a couple of years ago and it was a HIT.  The kids genuinely laughed and appreciated the thought behind this prank.  You can see the details that I wrote about here.

April Fools Idea #2:  

Great for kids or your office….

Grab a box of donuts.  Empty the donuts from the box and fill it with Crudités.  If you’re going to fool your staff, make a note on the staff back office door to guide them to treats in the kitchen. When they open the box, include a note on the inside of the box that says: HAPPY APRIL FOOLS!  Of course, have the donuts styled next to some flowers or a note that says, Just kidding, ENJOY!  They will have healthy and special snacks all day to enjoy.

April Fools Idea #3:

This is for an office setting…

Create witty flyers or notices for your employees on the staff bulletin board in the backroom.   They will most certainly do a double take and once they realize once going on, this will make them laugh or at the very least…crack a big smile!
