Blood Orange Mojito
One of my favorite parts of making cocktails in the summer is being able to use fresh ingredients. It makes the whole cocktail experience feel much more healthy and refreshing.
Natalie found some blood oranges at Whole Foods the other day, so I decided to whip up some Blood Orange Mojitos to help us cool down after a long, hot week in NYC.
Here's what you need: -white rum (we got some Bacardi Silver from our friends at MiniBar Delivery!) -sparkling water -sugar -fresh blood oranges, juiced -fresh limes -fresh mint -ice
Here's what to do:
1) Combine 1 tsp. sugar, the juice of half of a lime and a some fresh mint leaves in each cocktail glass. Muddle together all ingredients.
2) Once thoroughly muddled, add some ice to each glass, filling about halfway. 3) Over the ice and muddled mixture, pour 1 oz. of rum. Then, add about 2.5 oz. of blood orange juice. Use a straw or spoon handle to mix ingredients together.
4) Top each drink with sparkling water to add some bubbles. Garnish with fresh lime and a few more mint sprigs.
This cocktail is super refreshing... the citrus and the mint make it so summery!
Cheers! Until next week...
