Blood Orange and Jalapeño Margarita
I use any excuse to enjoy a margarita. The excuse this week? Celebrating the fact that Seri, Maggie and I were all back in town after epic weekends away and enjoying Halloween in NYC together! Seri and Maggie traveled to St. Barth's on LMP business, while I visited friends in Denver.
Needless to say, Halloween brought on a fun and festive air to the office, so a beautiful cocktail was an excellent addition.
Here's what you'll need:
-tequila (I used Patron Silver) -blood orange soda -triple sec -fresh lime juice -fresh oranges -chipotle salt -jalapeños -fresh mint -ice -cocktail shaker
Here's what to do: 1) Pour some of your chipotle salt onto a flat plate. Use an orange slice to wet the rim of your cocktail glasses. Place the wetted rim on your plate of chipotle salt to line the rim.
2) Add ice to each cocktail glass and to your cocktail shaker. 3) Measure 4 oz. tequila, 2 oz. triple sec, 6 oz. blood orange juice and juice of 1 lime to cocktail shaker. Shake to mix well. 4) Pour mixture into each cocktail glass over ice. Add fresh orange wedge, a skewered jalapeño and a sprig of mint to each glass for garnish.
Olé! This cocktail has some spice for an extra little kick. The tequila doesn't hurt either. Enjoy this as a nice break from pumpkin flavored everything with some guac and chips and you've got yourself a fiesta.
I styled these babies with some beautiful items that will be included in a very special, exclusive party in a box that we will be announcing soon, so stay tuned!
Until next week...
