A Today Show Baby Celebration

We recently had the honor to work with the Today Show team on a pretty outstanding event. Yes that's right, the TODAY SHOW. Together with our friends at Minted, we put together a Baby Shower Brunch for Megan Kopf Stackhouse. Megan is the Vice President of Public Relations for NBC-TV’s TODAY. And in addition to handling communications for the legendary morning show, she is the go-to person in her office when there’s a baby or bridal shower to celebrate.

But now that it’s Megan’s turn, with her first child due in March, her colleagues wanted to deliver a chic baby shower for their chic, party-planning PR maven.

For this gender-neutral lunch at Locanda Verde in New York City, we chose décor from Simply Baby by Penelope Poppy for Minted. It’s a stunning suite that offers everything from circle garlands to photo backdrops to custom signage and more!

Locanda Verde has a gorgeous stone mantel in the private dining room, which we adorned with sweet artwork, also from Minted: “With All my Heart” by Guess What?, “Love You” by InkDot, and “Reach” by Carrie O’Neal. The “Little Owl” print by Jenn Lawrence inspired us to add white, gold and silver ceramic owls into the décor. We dressed up the banquet seating with pillows of “Owl Party” fabric by Katerina Pushkina, and used napkins of the same fabric for the bread and pastry baskets.

And as luck would have it, Megan adores owls!

To take advantage of the two-story ceilings, we brought in four 36” white balloons, wrapped greenery around the string and anchored them into cubes filled with white jellybeans. Each long, wooden farm table was set with two balloons, two white flower arrangements, and was sprinkled with paper confetti.

A pink or blue card (since Megan doesn’t know her baby’s gender) at each guest’s place setting was to be filled out using their custom #babystack pencil and added to the Baby Advice Book. The book had envelopes so each card could be added and would not get lost!

The photo backdrop is always a fun place to gather, especially when wearing pink heart shaped sunglasses. Looks like everyone got in on the action!

We were even able to snag a photo with a few of the hostesses!

For a signature cocktail, we created “soon to be MOM-osas” which were served in pink stemless champagne flutes adorned with pink metallic straws and straw flags. In keeping with the owl theme, we put extra straws in a white ceramic owl holder.

Megan was blown away with every little detail, right down to the custom stickers on the pink and blue M&M favors. Simply adorable!

We added some LMP touches like a small fresh flower cutting on each person's place setting.

It's not a party until Matt Lauer personally delivers your celebration cake!! Pretty cool, right?
