9th Birthday Crafts at The Social Society

We’ve been working very hard here on getting The Social Society ready to open it’s doors. The count down is ON as we’re now opening in just over one week. AH! After late nights of painting, cleaning, setting and styling all inventory and organizing the back office, we had a test party…

This was no ordinary test party, it was for my niece. She was turning 9 so I told my sister, let’s use the store, even though it’s not fully done, to host a little party for her! We wanted to make it special AND test all aspects of and in the store. The point of sale system, the set up for an event, crafting with kids, serving food and having people in the space. It was a huge success and very very helpful in our planning process.

Naturally we took the decor and planning to the next level with a bright, happy theme, balloons, tables set with crafts and an adorable little cake made by Stephanie Marciani.

For activities, we had plenty for these little gals to do. First, they sat at a table set with jewelry boxes and jewels + markers to decorate with. They also each received a beading set by Super Smalls, a brand that we are carrying in our store and LOVE! If that wasn’t enough, we also brought in Amy from The Gifted Boutique who set up a trucker hat bar where the kids got to choose a hat and then choose patches to design their own hats. It was SO FUN!

My niece, Dylan, had the most wonderful time celebrating her birthday and the party was really fun.

Now we have some experience under our belt, one more test event where we’re inviting customers into the shop for an exclusive shopping experience and then it’s GO TIME! We cannot wait to open our doors to all of you!
