April Showers Bring May Flowers

It’s the weirdest thing (or maybe it’s not) but I swear to you, every year, May 1st I wake up, I go outside and I see….my Cherry Blossom tree in FULL BLOOM! It happens…OVERNIGHT as if the saying April Showers Bring May Flowers really is TRUE!

I’m not sure I can truly express just how happy this tree makes me. It lasts for such a short time and while it’s in bloom I stare at it every day, even if I have no reason to go outside, I find one, just to admire it.

We bought this house ten years ago and this tree has been with us ever since. It’s so lush, full and gorgeous. I often clip the branches and use them to either create a dramatic table runner or beautiful arrangement for my table or barcart.

Last week on the eve of Mother’s Day Weekend, I decided to treat myself to some beauty in the backyard. I clipped some of the tree’s branches and pulled vases in various heights, arranged the branches on my bar cart and started drinking rosé at noon. It was a good day!

Sadly, the blossoms on this tree have a very short life and before I know it, all of the pretty pink petals are going to have fallen into the mulch on the ground. Sad but true so I certainly do appreciate every day that this tree is full of life. Whether they’re real or digital, I hope you’re able to join me in boosting your mood by enjoying some blooms!
