If there's someone to celebrate this May...it's your Mama.
Ok so how many holidays have we had in Quarantine thus far? Passover / Easter was the biggie. It stung not to be with our extended family like we normally are but we made it work with an incredibly well coordinated Zoom seder and a delicious dinner. It was certainly a holiday celebration that we will never forget.
Well there’s no changing our lifestyle come Mother’s Day this May 10th so…here’s the plan.
Send your wife, or your kids (!! see notes below !!), your partner or direct to the source = yo mama a BEST.MOM.EVER Party in a Box this Mother’s Day and you’ll be her favorite.
The assortment that we curated to celebrate MOM this year is one that is chic and so easy to set up. No fuss no muss. The best part? Your kids can do it!
Today I asked my kids if they would help me with my Mother’s Day Party shoot by setting up a party box and baking cupcakes for the occasion. They were like um….can we eat the cupcakes? If so, we’re in.
I also emailed them and asked them a few questions to answer for my blog post. Here’s what they wrote back:
Q: What do I love most about my mom?
Gavin: Everything
Luke: That she is a party planner
Q: How do I think my mom has been feeling during the Quarantine?
Gavin: Stressed
Luke: Stressed
Mom: and now my heart is bleeding. damn.
Q: What does my mom do best?
Gavin: Party
Luke: plan my birthday
Q: What is my mom’s best quality?
Gavin: All of them
Luke: loving
Q: What can I do to thank my mom today? (Mother’s Day)
Gavin: Make dinner for a night
Luke: give her a brake (M: I left the spelling here because he’s so cute)
If it isn’t obvious from their answers, partying and entertaining is in my blood and I LOVE doing it. Creating this pre-mother’s day celebration with the kids made me HAPPY. One of the reasons I’m so stressed is the fact that my day to day has gone from working directly with my clients to planning parties (my passion) to homeschooling my children and making sure they don’t eat ice cream and cupcakes all day long. Love them to death, but I am not a teacher and my business cards say “Chief Party Officer” for a reason. Having this time with them on the shoot and blog post to do MY work TOGETHER was pretty special and I loved every moment of it.
The boys and I thought for our instagram and blog story, it would be cute to ‘ship’ the box from Dad, to them. They even helped me write the card - ha!
Dear Boys, Please set this up and we’ll surprise mom.
Love,
Dad
The kids were SO excited to get this box off the doorstep, rip through it and make (and eat!!) cupcakes! No doubt, it relieved my stress just watching how they worked it all out together. They laughed and set up and created a celebration….for me. <3
Celebrating mom has never been easier with our sweet party in a box. I’m also super into the idea of the Super Hero party for mama…and Girl Power for a mom friend.
Looking at these photos I’m still thinking about how happy it made me to see my boys not only be helpful today, but to do something nice and work so well together. How much joy it brought them made my heart swell. Sipping my wine and snacking on cupcakes with them was a simple pleasure that I’ll carry with me for the rest of the week. Nothing is more important than my family. Love you boys and to the moon Adam.
