A St. Patrick's Day Party in a Pinch
Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? I don’t. It happens to be my wedding anniversary. SO…I’m usually celebrating THAT instead! BUT…if I were to celebrate, here’s how I’d do it…
I would invite my friends over and enjoy cocktails and snacks. I can’t help but make my parties feel festive so to decorate, I created a clover wall with green, heart shaped balloons. These balloons are easy to find online and don’t require any helium. Just inflate with a straw and use your lungs! These stick onto the wall easily with a heavy duty packing tape. Attach in clusters of 4 with the tails touching and voila! Instant luck 🍀
To serve, I mixed it up with an “eat the rainbow” platter of crudités and fresh cucumber + dill dip; paired with funfetti rainbow cupcakes. You can of course make a themed cocktail but if you want to keep it easy, just find Irish beers like Guinness (My husband’s favorite!) and set it out on ice. I served a bunch of beers in the gold beverage bucket filled with tons of ice and glass beer mugs. If you want to go the extra mile…set those beer mugs in the freezer a few hours before serving.
Lucky for me (pun intended) I have a rainbow skirt in my closet. I found this skirt at J.Crew last summer and am totally obsessed. Top is new from Zara, still there I’m sure if you like it.
If you’ve got kids, get them involved in blowing up and taping the balloons in a symmetrical pattern. Serve “lime” green lemonade over ice and set out tons of boardgames for them to play.
Happy St. Patricks Day, leprechauns! Have fun and be safe.
