A Galentine's Day Slumber Party

Okay woah… how is it almost February of 2020?! Somehow that first month of the new year always seems to fly by in the blink of an eye. Luckily we were ahead of the game with the next celebration on the list- Galentine’s Day!

While Valentine’s Day is very important for you and the one you love.. we find that GALentine’s Day is just as special, and maybe even a little more fun to celebrate. There’s nothing better than the bond between you and your best gal pals.

We feel like 2020 is the year of self care, so for Galentine’s Day we wanted to celebrate in the comfort of home, treating ourselves to some R&R with rom coms, cocktails, and candy galore! See the above link for a sweet way to assemble your very own love-filled candy table!

You can host your own Galentine’s Slumber party like ours with some simple steps. Gather up any pink, red, or purple pillows and blankets you may have. If you don’t have any, that’s okay too! You can fill up on colorful candy and balloons to make up for it.

Using a curtain rod, a beam on your ceiling, or anything else that can hang decor, set up your party backdrop. Next, head to your local party store for festive balloons. Don’t fuss with helium, just fill them up with air! We mixed some basic red and magenta latex balloons and tied them in garlands or just hung them with a regular string. We just continued to add more and more balloons until the area above Seri’s couch felt full of fun. We finished off the look with basic paper streamers and some metallic fringe.

Before we get started, of course, we bring out the snacks and drinks. We went with a candy charcuterie board filled with Valentine’s Day classics and the modern twist of cheeses and crackers for something savory. We also made a gorgeous pink margarita to sip on during the movie. Stay tuned for that recipe coming to the blog next week!

And your final step is to throw on a romantic comedy, of course. Whether you have a big screen TV or you’re streaming from your laptop, anything works when you’re spending quality time with your gals!
