A few too many friends?

Every year when I go to write my holiday cards, I think to myself….woah. I have a lot of friends! You know as you grow up, you lose touch with friends from your youth and not because something happened between you but because you grow apart or move away. But then…you meet new people! And the new people I have met over the years have mostly come through my kids. I’ve met so many wonderful parents through my kids schools, after school activities, hockey team and also through Little Miss Party! It’s so fascinating.

Everyone gets a zillion holiday cards in December right? Kids photos, dogs, families…it feels like a lot BUT…I think it’s the best. I love hearing from people I haven’t seen in ages and I love seeing everyone’s family grow up.

For my holiday cards, I like to write a hand written note on each one. Even if it’s just a “Happy Holidays” I like to make the cards feel personalized.

Every year I order my cards from Minted. Not only do I find they have an incredible selection of designs, they make the ordering process so seamless. There are so many options to customize your cards, add on return address labels, import your mailing addresses so they print right on the envelopes and so much more.

Since I have to order cards for both my family and friends and the Little Miss Party team to send out to our clients and vendors, I end up going down a bit of a rabbit hole with the designs. It’s so hard to choose because there are so many good ones! Minted created a holiday look book to make this process a little bit easier with all of their favorite holiday card designs in one place for you.

For the LMP card, we did a photo shoot with our boy Dave Robbins and it was a blast. We walked through Washington Square Park with jumbo balloons like we owned the city. We got the best shots and chose such a fabulous photo to use on our card. Then we all looked through the designs, narrowed it down to our top 5 favorites, easily mocked each design option up on the Minted website and then voted for our fave. I like to leave the back of the card blank so I have plenty of room to write my hand written notes. I also wanted to add some of our own text to the card, so I simply made note of this in the “special requests” field when checking out for this card and the Minted team made the changes for me perfectly and then sent me a digital proof to review before going into print.

For the boys card, I simply could not choose a design this year. I had two favorites that I went back and forth on and kin the end, I ordered both! So this year…my recipients will be surprised with which one they get!

Of course I want everyone to enjoy the surprise of seeing these cards for the first time in their mailbox so I am sorry I cannot show you more in this post today BUT….as soon as I get those bad boys in the mail I will share ALL our photos from the shoots we did with Dave! Cannot wait for you to see.

In the meantime…hopefully I inspired you to get on top of your holiday card ordering because trust me…it feels so good to get that checked off the list and out of the way!
