Bringing a little light into some children's lives

Last week we had the absolute honor and pleasure of working with some of the most amazing women at Mount Sinai hospital to throw their annual holiday party for the patients and families of the Pediatric Hematology & Oncology unit.

I'm not sure I can put into words how it felt to be a part of this. The planning and set up was seamless because the team at Mount Sinai was so easy to work and so passionate about their patients and making this party a success. Working with people like this makes our job so easy, and it was an absolute dream for us to be a part of such a special event. Knowing that our help meant they could focus on doing their job helping sick children was heart busting.

The patients look forward to this party every year. There is a man who donates the funds to make this event happen every year, and he plays Santa so the kids can line up to tell them what they wish for this Christmas. No matter what age, Santa gives each child a gift to leave with. As part of our prep for the party we spent time carefully selecting the best possible gifts for these children based on their age ranges and no doubt, each child had a huge smile on their face when they walked off Santa's lap with a wrapped present.

When the guests entered the party, they walked through a huge balloon arch that we had installed by the Balloon Saloon.  They walked through the party to find a candy buffet that we styled with candy canes, balloons and wrapped, Christmas themed candies for them to fill up cartons with and take home.

They continued onward to find tables of crafts run by Make a Wish and other charitable organizations. Plus there was a huge set up by New York Fun Factory with carnival games and a build a bear station.

To eat, we served gourmet pizzas from Little Luzzo's, who was such an incredible partner for this event. Luckily we had amazing plates from our forever favorite brand, Cheeky, to serve all our guests. We also styled our food table with tons of fruit, waters with gorgeous labels that our team designed and stickered, and a huge assortment of chips from Kettle Brand who was yet again another incredible partner for this event.

The kids had an absolute blast, and being a part of this event meant that our hearts could not have been more full of happiness. There is nothing greater than bringing joy to these children.
