Mazzy’s Milk Bar
It’s been a dreary few days of rain here in NYC so to lighten the mood from this sad weather I’m pretty pumped to announce Erika Cisneros as our Bluum winner for the giveaway we ran last week in our post about holiday gift giving for the kids. Congrats Erika! Please email me here and I’ll have the lovely Nicole of Bluum send a box of goodies right out to you. I am sure you will love everything that you find inside!
Now, let’s talk milk
This weekend we had the great pleasure of working with Ilana of Mommy Shorts on her gorgeous daughter’s 3rd birthday party. Ilana just had a baby, beautiful Harlow, and needed a hand so she called on LMP to step in and take care of it all…
We had the party in Ilana’s apartment and called it from 2-4pm. A perfect window to serve some desserts…and have a puppet show!
So what do kids love? Milk. AND COOKIES! So here we had it — Mazzy’s Milk Bar.
Mazzy loves pink so we used shades of this girly color combined with burlap brown and cow prints to set our dessert table which turned out chic while totally appropriate for a young lady.
The milk theme was so fab to design with! We called on the incredible Kristan of Kreated by K for all of the desserts and worked with her to create a super fun menu. This included chocolate chip cookie pops, Oreo cookie cupcakes, a butter cream frosted cake lined with chocolate chip cookies and lots of cake pops.
We spunked up the cake pops and put cow finger puppets on the sticks which we found from Family Craft on Etsy. She makes the most adorable hand made puppets with love.
We could not get over how cute and perfect these milk cartons were for our dessert table…so we used them as food cards. Amazing!
For the entertainment we used Penny and the Puppettes. Merissa the main star AKA Penny came in with an awesome stage, tons of puppets, an amp and a headphone and music to boot.
The kids went wild for her show and she managed to keep the attention of 12 wild 3 year olds for 45 minutes straight!
For the drinks…we kept it simple and appealing to all ages. For the kids we served up plastic mini jugs of milk with striped straws from our favorite online party store shop sweet lulu. We also made personalized “drink milk” stickers for the caps.
For the adults we set up a table with an old school milk tin (courtesy of my mother in law who holds on to a ridiculous amount of junk which actually sometimes comes in handy…) including water bottles for the kids and adults – of course personalized by LMP.
Along side we poured pink prosecco into plastic demi cups which we surrounded by a fudge stripe. An old school cookie that definitely reminded me of when I turned 3!
Out of the reach from the kiddies we also set up a coffee and hot chocolate bar where we put out mini marshmallows and whip cream to top.
For the kids to walk away with, Ilana’s mom found the most fabulous plush hand puppets. I wrapped them up in brown paper lunch bags, punched a couple of holes and tied a pretty pink ribbon through along with a “Thanks for having milk with me” tag.
It was pretty amusing to watch all those kids getting high on sugar, washing it down with milk and running around like chickens with no heads…and we just loved working with Ilana and her family!
Happy 3rd Birthday Mazzy…hope you had as much as we did!
