New Year's Eve Charcuterie
We’re officially two weeks out from New Year’s Eve and I am starting to think about what I want to do this year with my husband. Last year we kept things super quiet by watching some football at a local pub, then going home, putting our jammies on, and ordering some Chinese take out and as we watched the ball drop from the comfort of our cozy little living room. It was actually the best!
As I get older, I am opting for more quiet NYE’s at home. Going out in NYC is EXPENSIVE, and I certainly do not want to stand outside in the freezing cold waiting to get let into a club or bar!
That’s why this year we’re planning to do another round of a living room celebration. Earlier this month when I was down in Florida at the store, I played around with some settings I’d want to bring home for our celebration and fell in love with this gorgeous mystical set that screams New Year’s. You can shop our full collection of New Year’s tableware and decor items here. There are so many fun combinations you can put together!
Our centerpiece? An extravagant charcuterie board of course. Something that looks beautiful and is actually functional! Even though I am the flower child around here, I love using ingredients as centerpieces… it’s such a fun way mix up a table setting. Trader Joe’s has everything you need for an easy board - here is my typical shopping list:
3 Cheeses (mix of hard and soft)
2-3 Fruits (I like grapes and berries)
2 Boxes of crackers (people always eat through them quickly)
Nuts (my favorite are the truffle almonds!)
Honey
2 Meats (prosciutto and a peppered salami)
And if i’m really feeling up to it, I make little caprese skewers that have cherry tomatoes, basil, and mini motzeralla balls, drizzled with a balsamic glaze. People love them!
No matter what you decide to do, I encourage you to find a special someone to spend it with. The Social Society is all about spreading joy, and you can do that even if it’s just you, a friend, a bottle of wine in your kitchen.
Here’s to more celebrations, whether they’re big or small, in 2025!
