Let Them Eat Cake!

Today is #NationalCakeDay. So in honor of that, we thought we’d round up some of our favorite cakes from throughout the years. Because as party planners, we’ve seen quite a few.

Art Inspired

When your first birthday is at the Guggenheim, you better have a cake to match! this 3 tiered beauty fit our space perfectly with a geometric topper and edible splatter paint in primary colors to match. The design is timeless and surely one we’ll recreate in the future!

CAMP FEVER

This cake was one that we had done for Seri’s son’s 6th birthday. The theme was camp Luke so what better idea for a cake than a log shaped one?! I mean look at that texture! And how could we forget that buffalo print interior. It was truly so cool to cut into!

Dipped in gold

If we had it our way, all of our decor would always be dipped in gold…. Like this gorgeous cake we had done for a little East Village wedding. It fit this intimate gathering perfectly. To top it we added some fresh florals on top.

A Cake fit for a Rockstar

The level of detail on this cake was clearly what made this cake so special! I mean look at that electric guitar!! I also really love how that stars were made to stick out of the cake as if they were floating.

NAKED CAKES

As I’m sure you already know, naked cakes are quite the trend. We love them because they are a great way to make your party look chic and cool without having to try to hard. So when we got asked to style a First Birthday photo shoot, we thought lets set the table with naked cakes! Yes thats right, each place setting for their own mini cake. How cool is that?!

SUMMERTIME FUN

Another fab cake for one of Mr. Luke’s birthday parties! The year he turned 5, Seri did a huge pool party. So we had this super cute cake made up to bring our pool party dreams to life! Again, its all in the details for this guy!

AROUND THE WORLD

This Bat Mitzvah was truly one for the books. Ally wanted to celebrate her coming of age with fun elements from around the world. So to tie it all together, we made this beautiful cake with the cutest little detail - a star on top of Israel!

FLORAL FUN

It’s so easy to make things pretty wish fresh florals. For this seventieth birthday celebration, Seri kept things simple by just adding a few fresh florals to a naked caked and then adding a fun number topper. This decor only costed a few bucks but was such a cute addition to the party. You can recreate this look for almost any occasion!

PIRATE FUN

Ok and we’ll end this post with yet another cake for Luke, haha! This kid has had some seriously cool birthday cakes. I think this one may be my favorite tho…. I mean look at the detail on that treasure map! This is making me wish we get another Pirate party soon! You can’t beat the cuteness!

So there you have it! A few different ideas on how to decorate the cake for your next celebration. Be sure to celebrate #NationalCakeDay by enjoying a slice of your favorite cake :)
