I WANT CANDY

A few months ago Seri’s amazingly talented interior designer Lisa, from ABACA Interiors, reached out to us because her twin girls were in the process of planning their Bat Mitzvah. Lisa has helped Seri so much through the years with designing so many spaces in her home, that we were pumped for Lisa to be on the receiving end of our services!

So we got right to brainstorming….. the girls had so many interests! We got on a call with them to discuss the possibilities: tennis, music, the beach. They didn’t really have a set theme in mind, so were started discuss other things they might like to include at the party. And I noticed that their faces really lit up when we got to talking about…. CANDY!

So once the call was over I turned to Seri and said why not a candy theme? And the rest is history.

Ok…… now on to the details! The party was held at Slate, which really is the best venue to have a Bat / Bar Mitzvah because it’s a really turn key space. Plus they have so many games, and decor already built in.

Right when you walked in, we set up a cute guest book station. It’s always a nice touch because friends and family can leave sweet messages to the birthday girls and even a photo or two!

In the main space, La Bella Bash did this KILLER balloon installation. We discussed a few different options of what to do here, but we ended up going with this really whimsical design where all these hand made balloon candies would hang from these columns.

Up by the bar, we also had them make some balloon mosaics of the birthday girl’s initials to match our logo for the party.

Also on the bar, we designed custom mocktail signage and napkins to tie in our color palette even more.

Okay so obviously, a party that is all about candy needed a sick candy bar. So we asked the girls what types of candy they wanted at their party and ran with it! I’m sure you’ve heard that song from Bow Wow called “I Want Candy”, so that was my inspiration behind these super cool marquee letters. We put them up on acrylic risers so they would really pop behind each of our candy jars. One of my favorite details of this set up was they classic gum ball machines that I managed to find in our one of color palette colors!

And last up, and probably one of the best details of all was the swag. We custom designed these chic sweatshirts with the girl’s logo on the front and cool ombre lollipop on the back.

All and all, this party was a hit! It’s definitely going to be one of my favorites of 2022.
