Easy Dip Dye Ombre Vases

When designing an event, we're perfectionists. We recently styled an event for Vanity Fair Lingerie and could not find the "perfect" pots for our gorgeous gray succulents...so I made them!

Check out the easy steps below :

What you'll need : * Terracotta clay pots * Flat white spray paint * Bowl or container for dipping - glass is best so it won't stain! * Tie dye paint * newspaper * water

How to do it : 1. Start by spraying the terra-cotta pots white. Apply a few coats and let the paint dry in between coats. Be sure to use a flat white paint so the tie dye can absorb. Set out on newspaper or cardboard to dry.

2. Fill a bowl or container with desired color dye. Water can be used to dilute the color some, but try not to use too much water or the paint will become too liquid and will not adhere to the pots.  I used 3 x 2oz bottles of blue, 1 x 2oz bottle of yellow and about 1.5 cups of water to achieve the teal color I wanted.

3. Dip the vase into the dye and hold for about 30-60 seconds, depending on the color intensity you desire. Remove and let drip.  Repeat this process down the length of the vase until you have an ombre effect. The darkest color intensity will be at the  bottom of the pot. Let dry on newspaper.

I love how gorgeous these turned out ! Each pot will have some variations depending on how long you dip but that's the beauty of them. The final result was perfection!
