DIY Earth Day Planters

Here at Little Miss Party, we're majorly appreciative of Mother Earth. From our favorite flowers that decorate the office to the colorful vegetables we cook with, the natural world inspires us every day. To celebrate Earth Day this year, Seri threw a dinner party with her friends and I made a gift for each of them to bring home.

Aside from acting as their name card, these Earth Day pots each contained a recipe and plant the guest could bring home to cook with. The steps are simple:

1. Gather your supplies. You will start with spray paint (color of your choice) and clay pots.

2. Thoroughly cover the pots with your chosen color, using an old sheet to protect the ground underneath.

3. After your pots are dry, grab a pencil and a Sharpie- we chose metallic gold!

4. Outline each guest's name in pencil. (design tip: type out the name in your favorite font on the computer and try to mimic it!)

5. Go back over the pencil outline in Sharpie so it shows up nice and bright!

6. Head to your local farmer's market or greenhouse with your pots. We chose mint, basil, and rosemary for our guests, and had them potted on the spot.

7. Print out recipe cards that use the chosen plant for each guest to bring home. You can even print and use ours!

8. Print out the recipe card and Earth Day quote. Cut down to 3" by 5" and paste onto a 4" by 6" kraft paper card stock.
