Chef Luke Makes Candy Corn Rice Crispies

With Halloween just around the corner, and National Candy Corn Day on Monday, we knew Chef Luke would want to cook up something special. We found this fun recipe for chocolate-dipped candy corn rice crispy treats and our little expert executed it PERFECTLY. These delicious treats were a hit in the office.

I mean, how cute? SO perfect for Halloween, and we're totally getting into the spirit over here at LMP.

And while #CraftyMaggie was busy filming, her trusty assistant Gavin got some detail shots of Luke in action. Watch the full video and find the recipe detailed below.

Chocolate Candy Corn Crispy Treats

-6 cup crispy rice cereal -6 cup mini marshmallows -5 tbsp butter -orange gel coloring -dark chocolate candy coating -white chocolate candy coating

1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. 2. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Stir in a few drops of the orange food coloring and remove the pot from the heat. 3. Mix in the cereal and be sure it is all well coated. Press the treats into a buttered 11x13" baking dish to set. 4. Once the treats have set, cut them into triangles using your hands to gently round the corners to look like candy corns. 5. Melt the candy coating slowly in the microwave (mixing every 30 seconds). Lay wax paper over a cutting board or cookie sheet. 6. Dip the base of your triangles into the chocolate, shaking off the excess, then dip the top into the white melted chocolate. Place the treat on your tray to set.

Happy Halloween!
