Apple Cranberry Moscow Mule

In case you guys didn't know, I grew up in Upstate New York, in a very rural town kind of in the middle of nowhere.  Whenever Fall comes around, it means some serious apple picking adventures.  Ever since I moved to the city, I seriously miss going to the local farm and getting fresh apples, pumpkins, cider, etc.

My Mom and Dad came to visit a few weekends ago, and surprised me with a HUGE bag of my favorites.. Empire Apples.  Maggie and I have been brainstorming about all of the treats we can make with them, and of course, a cocktail was necessary.

I settled on the ever popular Moscow Mule, made with fresh apples, cranberries and rosemary, a perfect Fall twist on a classic.

Here is what you need: -vodka -ginger beer -cranberry juice -apple cider -fresh apples -fresh cranberries -fresh limes -rosemary -ice

Here's what to do: 1) Add ice to each of your Moscow Mule mugs. Sprinkle a few cranberries on top of ice. 2) To each mug, add 1.5 oz. vodka, 1 oz. fresh apple cider, 1 oz. cranberry juice, and the juice of one lime wedge. 3) Add ginger beer to each mug, filling almost all of the way to the top. 4) Garnish with a fresh apple slice, lime wedge and sprig of rosemary.

This is definitely a new favorite of mine! Next time you go apple picking, be sure to pick up some of your favorite kind of apple and cider, and whip this baby up at the end of the day.

Until next week... cheers!
