Apple Cider Margaritas

Fall is upon us, and though some of you may groan that summer is over, I could not be more excited for the change of season.  Bring on the apples, sweaters, leaves... all of it!

I decided that I wanted to celebrate the change of season with a refreshing, fall-inspired cocktail.  Many fall recipes that you will see are meant for colder weather, but I was looking for something that was still refreshing in the transition days.  Enter Apple Cider Margaritas! Aka, a combination of some my favorite things... margaritas, apples and cinnamon. It was also a perfect way to use some of the tequila that I had bought over the summer for when I made more traditional, summery margarita recipes.

I found this recipe on Pinterest, originally by How Sweet It Is, and adapted it a bit.

Here's What You Need: -Tequila -Cointreau -Fresh Apple Cider -Apples -Oranges -Sugar -Ground Cinnamon -Cinnamon Sticks -Cocktail stirrer

Here's What To Do: 1) Combine sugar and ground cinnamon on a plate.  Slice orange wedge and use wedge to wet the rim of your glass. Rim your glass with cinnamon and sugar combo. Lick the plate. (Just kidding)

2) Add ice to each of your rimmed glasses. Add 1 oz. cointreau, 1 oz. tequila, and 5 oz. Apple Cider to each glass and stir with a cocktail stirrer.

3) Add 1 cinnamon stick to each glass to garnish. Take your apple and cut horizontally, to create flat apple slices to add to the top of each drink.  It's okay if you get seeds, it will add an extra design detail!

4) Sprinkle some ground cinnamon on the top of your apple slice. And you're done!

This cocktail turned out to be as delicious as it sounds.  Perfect for sipping on those warm September days.

Enjoy! See you next week for my new weekly cocktail post series!
