Apple Cider Hot Toddy
Apple cider is one of my favorite parts of Fall, and recently I've been trying to remember that it is also very delicious when served hot!
This Apple Cider Hot Toddy is a new favorite of mine. It combines hot apple cider, whiskey and spices. What could be better?
Apple Cider Hot Toddy
Ingredients
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 oz. whiskey
- 2 fresh apples
- 1 fresh lemons
- 3 tbsp. star anise
- 2 tbsp. whole cloves
- 2 tbsp. honey
Instructions
1) Heat apple cider on stovetop or in electric tea kettle, mixing in a few pieces of star anise and whole cloves. Heat slowly until boiling.
2) In each mug, add 1 oz. whiskey and the juice of a quarter of a lemon.
3) Pour hot apple cider mixture into each mug, filling almost all the way.
4) Sweeten to taste with honey. Garnish with a fresh apple slice and fresh lemon slice.
