A Whimsical Toronto Wedding
My cousins Cory and Daniella are not your typical, traditional couple. They met at a bar on New Years Eve over seven years ago, and have been adventuring and laughing together ever since.
They wanted their wedding to reflect their fun and whimsical personalities. After getting engaged and they started talking about what they wanted their wedding to look like and decided not to overthink anything, they wanted their wedding to be a lot of fun and for their guests to feel the love.
Cory and Daniella decided on a modern but industrial venue in Toronto’s Distillery District. Airship 37 features an industrial space for cocktails, a modern all-white room for the ceremony and reception, and a fun outdoor patio.
The best part of the venue was the outdoor space, which is hard to come by when finding a venue downtown. It featured a vintage RV that served as such a great photo backdrop. Guests loved snapping photos in front of it.
They were really inspired by the greenery trend and big pops of color. Their color palette of pinks, corals, and deep wine shined through the florals, and the rest of the décor was modern and minimal.
The ceremony space was effortlessly chic. Becky from Blush and Bloom created lush, floral hoops to serve as a backdrop. Against a crisp white wall, this was a statement piece. They decided to ask guests to be unplugged during their wedding ceremony. It is the best way for a ceremony to feel intimate – no matter what the size of the wedding is.
Heading into the reception, the design was clean and minimal. The centerpieces and floral backdrop did most of the talking. All of the tables were adorned with modern and geometric candleholders in a mix of metals.
Table numbers were kept very simple – a geometric frame with a white vinyl number in the center.
All of the printed items were very modern and minimal. The favors were mini wine bottles with a personalized label.
For Cory and Daniella, one of their favorite (and easiest) wedding planning tasks was designing the cake. For an all white cake, this was a true showstopper. Emily from Crumb & Berry created a hexagon base cake with two round tiers of white-on-white chevron. It was absolutely modern geometric perfection. The couple really wanted to stay away from a traditional cake topper, so they instead mixed things up a bit by putting flowers in a small geometric vase.
Cory & Daniella's wedding was one for the books. A beautifully designed and styled party celebrating their love and uniting family and friends to share in their joy. I'm so proud to now officially call Daniella my cousin and could not be happier for Cory.
