A Day for the Gals
For as long as I’ve been a part of LMP, we’ve always done a little something for Galentine’s Day. Back when we had our office in NYC, we would get each other a small gifts just to say “Love you!!” It’s one of things we laugh about the most, we work together but also tell each other we love each other! These gals are seriously like my family!
Well when Seri moved down to Florida, we were no longer together for Galentine’s Day (unofficially: February 13th). But she still wanted to put together a little something for all the amazing women she’d met once she moved. And thus was born Seri’s annual Galentine’s Day brunch. Here is a breakdown of years past:
2021
This was the first year! We were still very much in Covid times back then, so the gathering was small and outdoors. Seri kept things really simple with pretty bud vases on the table, balloons in all shades of pink, heart shaped plates, and pretty designs for the menus and water bottle labels. At each seat, she had custom little charcuterie boxes, which was great for the era we were in because it meant no one had to share (and I still kind of love that idea now cause I never want to share my charcuterie hahaha). Finally on the table, she had a write a Valentine station which was so cute. I love this idea because I personally LOVE getting letters in the mail, so this year write a card and pop into a mailbox!
2022
Next year was our first year joining in on the fun! We were down there that week to work and help put together all the fun details for the party. We were working with a tea party theme, so we found vintage tea pots online and these super cute tea cups that said “whiskey, tequila, bourbon, and gin” on them. It was everyone’s favor at the party! SO CUTE! Then obviously for food, we had to have finger sandwiches, which we even had in the shape of a heart! And to take the table setting to the next level, we added these gorgeous floral napkins. I love a statement napkin on a place setting!
2023
Then in 2023, our party got even bigger! We had our largest group yet. This year the theme was lips, so we had Maggie hand paint this table runner design to go down the center of the table, and for the favor we did lipglosses that also doubled as a place card. For decor, we had Hennessy Events come in to do this awesome balloon installation over Seri’s patio which was the backdrop for our table. And then as an activity we did two things: a cocktail demonstration (which was so awesome and interactive) and a favorite things exchange….. see more details on this below!
FAVORITE THINGS
What is a favorite things exchange you may ask? Think white elephant except, instead of bringing something generic or a gag gift, you bring something you LOVE that you can share with one of your girlfriends. You set a limit just like with a regular white elephant, let’s say $50. And you draw numbers, and choose a gift to see what you got. It was so fun that I have done it with my friends the last two years as well! That year I walked away with a Lululemon belt bag, which I was so excited about! I highly recommend you play with your girlfriends for Galentine’s Day, the holidays, or just because!
No matter what you have planned for Valentine’s Day, just remember to celebrate with your girls too! Female friendship is so important and even though our lives are all very busy, it’s so refreshing to set time aside for cocktails and girl time!
XOXOXO
