LMP Travels: A Chilly Weekend in Boston

For those of you that don't know, I went to college in Boston at Northeastern University, which is how Maggie and I know each other! It's also where I met Pat (my boyfriend), and many of my other very close friends.  Needless to say, Boston holds a very special place in my heart.

Ever since I moved to NYC, I've been trying to make it a priority to go back to Boston to visit every few months, but this past year has been very packed with LMP events and other trips, so it had been almost a year since I had gone back to visit. Pat and I decided to go for a visit last weekend because it also happened to be my best friend Stephanie's birthday weekend! She and her now fiancé, Greyson recently got engaged as well, so we had a lot to celebrate.

We rented an Airbnb with them in Chinatown, which is right in the heart of Boston and next to downtown.  We got in late that night, so we ordered in sushi from one of the many delicious places in that area, and met up with some friends at Highball Lounge, a trendy cocktail bar along the Boston Common.

On Saturday, Steph and I went shopping on Newbury St. to buy some clothes for their upcoming engagement shoot, taking a detour to walk by the picturesque Beacon Hill.

After we shopped, we met the boys over in Somerville at Bantam Cider Brewery, a local Boston spot which served up some awesome cider varieties.

We then headed over to Seaport to meet up with some more friends for dinner at The Scorpion Bar, a brand new Mexican place in the middle of Bostons new up and coming Seaport District.  They had a really cool floor at the restaurant, so of course my friend Brittney and I had to snap a shoe pic before leaving!

After dinner, we all headed out to an old favorite spot from college, Ned Devine's, where we waited in line in the snow for far too long.  Despite the wait, we had a blast! Ned's is a huge club on the top of Faneuil Hall, with 3 separate rooms that play different music for you to choose from.  We chose the last, most packed room and danced to an awesome cover band. In true Boston fashion, at the end of the night we all trudge through the snow and went our separate ways.

On Sunday, we all checked out of the Airbnb and Pat and I spent the day walking around Downtown Boston and Seaport.  We stopped by one of his favorite spots for lunch, James Hook & Co., which is a little shack on the water that serves up the best lobster roll i've ever had!

We then walked over to Harpoon Brewery where we stopped for a drink, taking in the sights along the way.

On our way back to the car, we walked through more of Seaport and kept talking about how beautiful Boston is and how it has so much incredible character.  While we were saying all of this, we happened upon a little park, which had a bunch of cool artwork installations throughout. My favorite was the "LOVE WINS" sculpture, which was the perfect thing to see at the end of such an incredible weekend.

See you again soon, Boston! I can't wait to come back.
