Mandy’s Meals & More featuring Daniella of All that Glitters

I have a confession to make. From the day we moved into our condo which was over a year ago, I have been dreaming about hosting our engagement party in our building’s party room. Well before the proposal. That’s normal right? When my fiancé Cory popped the question about two months ago, I got right to work to put all my ideas into action. This weekend we celebrated with our family and close friends, and if I do say so myself it was one fabulous party!

When planning I tried to keep things simple since the room itself has so much character and so many great details. I kept a palette of white, mint, and pale pink with accents of copper and marble. We stocked the bar and hired a The Food Dudes to do passed appetizers. The drinks were flowing and the food was out of this world.

Now onto the details.

Because it was an engagement party I felt that a bubbly bar cart would be perfect. Because really, when you’re engaged all you want to do is pop champagne and celebrate! I put out juices and fruits for mimosas which were such a hit! And to switch it up a bit I stocked the bar with elderflower liquor and aperol so guests could make Elderflower Fizzes and Aperol Spritzes – so yummy! Using a bar cart as a mini drink station is great since it’s interactive and also takes a bit of pressure off the bar. I added a confetti balloon and a SIP SIP HOORAY glittery banner and voila – a chic bubbly bar!

The sweet table was really out of control and probably my favourite part of the party! My fabulous mother in law to be Debi, who you all know as Simply Beautiful Eating, brought with her a stunning petal layer cake, vanilla and chocolate mini cupcakes, and the cutest sugar cookies ever. All from the amazing ladies at Baked With Joy. My wonderful mother made mini panna cottas to add to the table as well. I loved that everything on the sweet table was mini and very easy for guests to grab at any point in the night.

Let’s talk about the favor table. I knew I wanted to give out mini champagne bottles so I designed a thank you tag that fit our theme to tie around the bottles. We also tied straws around some for those guests who wanted to pop their bottle right away and keep the party going! I printed black and white square photos of my fiancé Cory and I to use as wall decor behind the table. I punched holes in two of the corners and strung them onto three strands to put up on the wall. It was the easiest thing and a non-cheesy way to incorporate photos of the bride and groom to be. Seeing photos of us from the past four years was so much fun for all our family and friends, and made us so happy to look back on all the wonderful things we’ve done and amazing places we’ve been to together throughout our relationship.

This party was so much fun and it was amazing to celebrate with so many of the people we love. We couldn’t be happier! Until next time…

Mandy’s Meals & More

With the recent birth of our daughter Dylan, my husband and I decided to send out an announcement/holiday card combined rather than both. Though I do appreciate getting a letter in the mail, I thought it would be pretty wasteful to do anything separate.
With our beautiful pictures from Aunti Debi (Simply Beautiful Eating) in hand, we began our search on Minted.
Minted has literally followed every step of my adult life, every milestone I’ve achieved, party I have thrown and holiday that has passed minted has celebrated with my family. I really adore what they are about, that artists around the country are contributing and sharing their work.

Typically I am not super “girly” but this one just seemed to fit the bill and match Dylan’s adorable floral crown which you may have seen here. It was so beyond perfect I couldn’t believe it!

If you haven’t ordered your holiday cards yet check out the amazing selection here.

Wishing you and your families an amazing thanksgiving next week and upcoming holiday season!

Like the napkins in the pic? Check em out in the Little Miss Birthday Party Box!

Mandy’s Meals & More

Celebrating the bride to be? Looking for a healthy nibble to serve the ladies with the Shower Party in a Box that you just purchased?

Check out these ridiculously easy and surprisingly healthy appetizers. I would suggest dipping these puppies into a greek dressing of sorts.

Greek Feta Skewers
Olives (pitted preferably)
Tomato (I used a pretty firm tomato so that it stands up to the skewer)
Cucumber (I bought mini cucs)

Simply pile them high on a pretty skewer and call it a day! Your guests will be super impressed and relieved that they aren’t eating another typical bridal shower pastry.

Little Miss Party in a Box includes everything you need to entertain your friends with beautiful tableware and decor. All you need to add is the flowers, food and cocktails. Shop the Box and follow along with Mandy’s Meals & More for weekly recipes and food styling ideas!

Mandy’s Meals & More

Shower box on brit and co

Ok, so you’re throwing a birthday brunch and you need something quick, easy and super impressive for the guests.
This crispy, salty and creamy delight is so easy to make you’ll have extra time to sip on your mimosa and put your feet up before the madness begins.
You know what would pair perfectly with these bites? Little Miss Party in a Box!
Everything you could possibly need in a box, say whaaaa?!

Here is how I made these cucumber nibbles:

Mini English Cucumbers
Philadelphia Whipped Chive Cream Cheese
Smoked Salmon

Simply cut the cucumber into bite size rounds, pipe cream cheese onto each cucumber piece.
Roll up a small strip of smoked salmon and top with a sprig of dill

Easy peasy and delish!

*The white porcelain appetizer spoons are Mandy’s. She bought these at Crate and Barrel for $0.95 a pop. Pick up a dozen for an unexpected look when serving these cucumber rounds OR you can put them on our bamboo spoons included in the box…

You can now find our Party in a Box sold on Brit & Co. We LOVE their shop….LOVE it! Check it out and when you Shop the Box you will receive free shipping on orders over $75!
