How to Host New Years Eve with Little Miss Party…in a box.

I think you’re starting to catch on here…
We’re going bananas with Little Miss Party in a box! We’re getting tons of positive feed back and we couldn’t be more excited!
We have most recently partnered up with the adorable Mom Blogger, Brianne from Stroller in the City to give away a Little Miss Party in a box for New Years Eve. It’s a good one! You won’t want to miss out on your chance to win.
Here’s what we’ve got goin’ on inside….
The theme of the cocktail party to ring in 2014 revolves around glitter. #yougotglittered. With the two glitter vases we’ll be sending you we suggest buying a festive bunch of flowers, adding water and throwing them in. We’ll show you exactly how to make your own floral arrangements on our DIY post here.
We will send you personalized water bottle labels which are a no brainer. It’s a simple way to dress up a plain ol’ water bottle and make it more fun for your party. Just buy a case of water, rip the labels off and stick on ours.
Of course then there’s the essentials. Plates, napkins, party beads…c’mon. We’ll send it all thanks to our friends who we LOVE at Party City! They have an endless selection of everything you could ever need to host a party at home.

You should be a guest at your own party…so you can enjoy it too! We’re here to help with your party needs…and make sure it’s chic and cool.
Hang on…we’ll show you….

Ornaments are a dime a dozen during the holiday season….they sell them everywhere! Grab some clear fishing wire or string and throw em on. My son had the best time making a “pattern” out of these pretty gold balls while making for an alluring garland.
What’s a new years eve party without a reason to snap photos of you and your friends? You have to have party hats!!
Gold reindeers with plaid bow ties don’t hurt either. These were for a “mad for plaid” holiday cocktail party that Michelle will be telling you all about tomorrow…oh gosh. How great would that be? Mad for plaid in a box. HA! Order now…for next year!  I have a feeling we’re gonna book up.
Ok so for the food…if you’re not a big entertainer…and you don’t spend a lot of time in the kitchen…we say: FRESHDIRECT! Their catering platters are to die for and all you have to do is style onto your table.
However IF you do like to cook….check this out…I think you’ll like what we did.

New Years Eve Cocktail Party Menu by LMP
Bloody Mary shrimp I had a heavy hand with the Tabasco…and say be careful with this. Not all of your guests will like it too spicy.
Cucumber rounds topped with creme fraiche (to which I added: dill, lemon zest, salt and pepper – was so easy and delish!) and topped with smoked salmon
Cherry tomato bruschetta I chopped up cherry tomatoes, added a palmful of chopped sweet onion, salt & pepper and fresh basil.  I toasted some crusty bread, rubbed with garlic and hit each with a spoonful of this tomato mixture. Pretty & Yum!
Horseradish Deviled eggs
Pigs in a blanket  Ok, Ok, I cheated and ordered these because with two kids, a small biz and not very much time…somethin’s gotta give! Make sure you plate with two dipping bowls – one for ketchup and the other for mustard.
Cupcake cones buried in mini marshmallows that we topped with the most adorable antlers from the Cake Girls! Ah, I love holiday decor!NYE10
We cannot get enough of these gold swizzle toothpicks that you saw at my birthday party. We used them here to top mini cupcakes that we made with the leftover batter from the cupcake cones.
Another pretty important tip that we’ll pass along to make for a perfect cocktail party is…a long running playlist. You need to dim the lights and turn up the music. Our go to is good friend DJ Hesta Prynn. Check out her site for her latest tracks and mixes or follow her on Spotify.
Last and most certainly not least….are the cocktails. Beer, Wine a Signature drink…you’re set! We whipped up a little Pomegranate-Champagne punch. We used Prosecco to keep the cost down and boy was it delish and pretty with a sugar rimmed glass and a stripe-y straw with a glitter flag. Of course.NYE11
We will be wishing you lots of “Happy Holidays” all week long…and will love every moment of it.
